Oh to be a digital native. Some days I wish I had been born about 25 years later. Even though I use a number of Social Media platforms and keep on top of what’s happening in the digital landscape, it’s not as intuitive to me as it appears to be for those half my age. And it doesn’t help when many of those in your age group are not all Social Media believers. But I plod along.
Maybe it was growing up in a small community where I knew everyone that made me take a shine to Social Media. I love the ability to connect and share information with my social groups. Even better, I can discover and connect with people from around the world that share the same interests.
I’m not a Social Media guru. I don’t have tons of followers or know all the ins and outs of the platforms I play on, but I know enough to be dangerous. One of my favourite things to do is help someone get set-up on a platform. Give me some ideas of what you’re trying to accomplish and I have a pretty good idea of what platform you should be considering. But I’m still trying to figure out how to guide you if you don’t know where your peeps are hanging out.
Slowly I’m putting together a how-to package for individuals and small businesses wanting a social media presence. As I find information or figure it out, I’ll add to my repertoire.
