We’re a couple of renter wanna-be’s
Hi! We are Shawn & Kim, siblings in our 50’s, and Odin, our four-legged cuddly charmer who are looking for a quiet place to call home. We are tidy, quiet, non-smokers, non-partiers, who get along with our neighbours and will look after your home as if it is our own. We work hard and spend most of our down time cooking and binge-watching tv series.
What we are looking for
- 3 bedrooms – or 2 bedrooms with a large den or flex room that can be used for Kim’s office/work space
- Garage or secure shed (we can provide the shed) to store Shawn’s landscaping tools and our bicycles
- Convenient parking for 2 vehicles and ideally a small utility trailer
- Ideally we’d like to be somewhere with a <30 minute bus ride to downtown Victoria
- Budget $3000ish (depending on utilities)
- Month-to-month or long-term lease – whatever works best for you
About us
Originally from Manitoba, we have both lived in BC since the early 1990s. We are both longtime home owners. Life circumstances have made us roomies and we’ve been busy the last while renovating our family home in Vic West which we recently sold. We have decided to take a break from home ownership and want to rent for a while until we figure out what comes next.
Shawn
Job: Head gardener at Royal Oak Burial Park, since 2005
Spare time: Landscaper & gardener side jobs, fishing, cooking, and perfecting recipes using a smoker
Personal: Divorced with adult children who are doing their own thing
Kim
Job: Education coordinator for the Government of BC’s Digital Academy, since 2008, works from home
Spare time: Consulting, arts & crafts, restoring heritage homes, walking with Odin
Personal: Widowed with no children
Odin
Job: Companion, goes to doggy daycare 2x a week
Spare time: Sleep, lay in sun beams, pawkour novice, obedience training with a professional trainer
Personal: 2.5 years old, 40 lb lab mix, neutered, quiet, house-trained, great with humans and gets along with dogs when properly introduced
